New DNA barcodes, not yet available during our 2018 study of Perizoma of the obsoletata group (TAURAND & TAUTEL, 2019), now allow us to decide on the taxonomic position of the taxon reisseri and on that of the Pyrenean taxon close to obsoletata. Thus, the Corsican taxon reisseri should be considered as a subspecies of P. juracolaria (Wehrli, 1919), a revised status, while the Pyrenean taxon is a subspecies of the sister species P. obsoletata (Herrich-Schäffer, 1838). The Spanish taxon avilaria (Reisser, 1936) appears to be distinct from this Pyrenean taxon, based on habitus differences identified by close examination of the only known figure of avilaria. Thus, this particular Pyrenean taxon is described here as P. obsoletata pyrenaea n. ssp., allowing it to be distinguished from the avilaria taxon, in the hope that the latter can be found, collected and studied in depth. The holotype of the new subspecies is preserved at the MNHN and several paratypes are designated. The particular biology of these Geometrid moths, exceptionally adapted to the large Gentians, is presented. A French and European distribution of the species juracolaria and obsoletata is outlined.
